Refund Policy

When DPhysics refunds a payment, when it does not, and how to ask. Read this before you pay, not after.

1.In short

Course access is digital content that is delivered to you the moment your payment is approved. Because of that, we do not offer a general refund window, and buying access should be treated as a final decision.

There are, however, situations where a refund is not a matter of judgement at all and you can simply expect one. Those are listed below. Everything outside that list is considered individually, on its merits.

2.Refunded as of right

We will refund you in each of the following cases. You do not have to argue for it, and we do not exercise any discretion:

  • You paid twice for the same access. We refund the duplicate in full.
  • You transferred more than the amount due. We refund the excess.
  • We cancel a class outright and do not run a replacement. We refund what you paid for it, in proportion to what was not delivered.
  • Your payment was approved but access was never actually opened, and we cannot put it right.
  • Access was granted to you in error, and we withdraw it.
  • You were charged for something you never requested.

If any of these has happened to you, you do not need to wait for us to notice. Write to us and we will sort it out.

3.Everything else is considered case by case

Outside the list above, refunds are at our discretion. We look at each request individually — what was bought, how much of it has been used, how long ago the payment was made, and the circumstances behind the request.

We would rather be told about a real problem than have you simply stop attending. If a class is not what you expected, or something has changed for you, write to us and explain. A request made early, before much of the content has been used, is one we can usually do something about. A request made at the end of a course that has been watched through is one we generally cannot.

Because this is a judgement rather than a rule, we cannot promise an outcome in advance. What we do promise is that we will read the request, answer it properly, and tell you the reason for our decision.

4.What we do not refund

To be straightforward about the answer you are most likely to get:

  • Content you have already watched, downloaded or otherwise used.
  • Live classes you were entitled to attend but did not, where the recording was made available to you.
  • Access that has simply expired at the end of its period.
  • A change of mind after substantial use of the content.
  • Difficulty caused by your own device or internet connection.
  • Access ended because these terms were broken — in particular by sharing an account or redistributing content.
  • Examination results. We teach the subject; we do not sell an outcome.

5.How to ask for a refund

Write to reachdp6.lk@gmail.com from the email address on your account, and include:

  • the class or content the payment was for
  • the date and amount of the transfer
  • the reason you are asking

We aim to acknowledge a request within 3 working days and to give you a decision within 14 working days. If a request needs us to check something with the bank, it can take longer, and we will tell you if it does.

6.How a refund is paid

A refund goes back the way the payment came. A card payment is reversed through PayHere to the card you paid with; a bank transfer is refunded by transfer to the account it came from. We do not refund to a different card or account, and we do not refund in cash or in credit unless you ask for credit and we agree to it.

Approved refunds are normally sent within 14 working days of the decision. A card reversal can then take a further few working days to appear on your statement, which is your bank’s timing rather than ours. Any bank charge on a return transfer is deducted from the amount refunded.

Where a refund is agreed, the access it paid for is withdrawn at the same time.

7.Upgrades and overpayments

If you upgrade from something you already own to something that includes it, what you already paid is credited against the new price rather than refunded. You will see the credit applied in the amount you are quoted.

If that credit comes to more than the price of the upgrade, we do not silently keep the difference and we do not move money automatically. We tell you, and you choose between a refund of the excess and leaving it as credit.

8.Your legal rights

Nothing in this policy removes any right you have under the consumer protection laws of Sri Lanka. If those laws give you a right to a refund in a situation this policy does not cover, that right still applies.

This policy is published in English and Sinhala. If the two versions differ, the English version governs.
